Due to not being able to use it as much as I would like I’m selling my 1942 model (Canadian built) Ford procurement type Staff Car model21a/3a. Canadian Production started in December 1941 with the chassis numbers running from 3a1 for the first off the production line, this one is 142 off the line, (bearing in mind that Canada had been at war with Germany since 1939) so I’m guessing this was on the line about the time of Pearl harbour.
I have very little history on the car other than buying about 15 years ago from a guy in Ireland who was using it as a wedding car, prior to that it was the subject of a body off restoration.
Very rare model that was also produced in the US, (model21a), it being the lowest production civilian model run in Fords history although they were produced for the military from February 1942, with very few, mainly 'bolt on' bits that were required to bring it to military spec, all these parts have been fitted.
The engine is V8 and runs like a Swiss sewing machine, the interior is light brown Bedford cord.
It still has the original 6 volt radio and heater.
I’ve fitted new brakes in the last 12 months and also new (taxi) radial tyres, it’s been re waxoyled,( there’s a set of whitewall crossply tyres that can go with it together with various spares ) the wipers have stopped working but as they are vacuum it’s probably a split pipe, I’ve fitted a 12 volt battery in the boot as I intended to fit a radio and 'CB',.
The car is in Devon, UK and comes with a four wheel 16’ trailer with electric winch and a still in box 'Shelterlogic' garage and original military manual. Might consider trade on something smaller (more photos on request).
The photos tell the rest....
