Reluctant Sale of Rare iconic 1944 Bedford QLR Command truck, due to breaking arm & Shoulder & elbow.
Have owned this truck for 10 years and done many thousands of trouble free miles but as I won't be able to drive for about a year have decided to sell.
I have fitted a totally rebuilt Bedford 214 engine which is 100BHP against 72 bhp. which included an unleaded head.
It will do 35-40 MPH and 12 MPG.
This truck went to Normandy in June 1944 with British & Canadian Artillery (possibly 6th of June ,see photo and number of other truck), it took part in Operation Epsom & Operation Goodwood supporting Operations crossing the Rhine.
It went to Korea with Commonwealth Artillery and returned to England in Late 1950s.
Demobbed in 1963 it was bought by a retired army officer who turned it into a motorhome to tour Europe.
So its had an interesting life, but now is the time for someone else to enjoy.
Its been to France many times including Normandy in 2014 & 2019 & Bethune & Hallicourt.
